Extras - Timely Persuasion

Deleted Scenes > Hospital > 24 & 311

By the time season two of '24' was starting, I'd hear critics ask how many bad days could Jack Bauer possibly have.  I never understood the complaints, as I didn't find it all that implausible.  Years passed between the seasons, so the days aren't all in a row.  And Jack has an important job, defending the country for the Counter Terrorist Unit.  I'm not nearly as valuable and I've probably had around ten days that I stayed up for a full twenty-four hours.  Granted, lots of them would be boring slices of normal life followed by cramming for a college exam or trying to make a deadline for the magazine.  Also a few nights of insomniac tossing and turning, which is essentially what these doctors should be expecting out of me this evening.

But there might be two or three gems in there.  Like some debaucherous evenings while backpacking through Europe.  Or immortalizing some of the hilariously goofy wasted days in a wasted daze where a bender keeps you up well past the wee hours and then some.  Or the comedy of errors that was following 311 on the road during one summer in high school.  Planning the trip during school, feigning illness to leave work, lying about true whereabouts to parents and then leaving the state, meeting the band before the show, getting into the club with fake IDs, having a member of our party break her arm during the encore and having to find the hospital while being accosted by homeless people and gang members, then finally trying to finagle some way out of the entire thing without letting our parents catch on.  You might even get twenty-six episodes out of that adventure.
