Extras - Timely Persuasion

Deleted Scenes > Hospital > Ink Blots

I know this may not make sense without seeing the inkblots that go with them, but here's my general thought process for the record.

Inkblot number 1:  What do you see?  A dragonfly frozen in flight towards a daddy longlegs.  How does it make you feel?  Makes me feel hopeful for the ending of the pursuit.  Did you see a type of animal, machine, or insect?  I said dragonfly, so...  Did you see anything sexual in it?  Er, I don't think so, but I suppose anything can look dirty if you really want it to.  Does the image seem to be ancient or from the past, current, futuristic, don't know, or none of these?  Sort of both current and futuristic at the same time, but I'll vote current.  Did it make you think of aliens?  No.  Well, maybe.  No, actually, no.

Inkblot number 2:  What do you see?  Half man, half dragonfly.  Definitely from the future, a traveler of sorts. Quite evil looking, yet mysterious.  The wings really stand out.

Inkblot number 3:  Two halves of the same person, both floating away from each other.  Neither masculine nor feminine.  Seem to be flying, but not with the ability to fly.  It's happy and sad at the same time.  Were you aroused?  Not one bit.  Are the two figures having sex?  Someone has issues.  I think they are drifting apart.  That's not one of the choices?  I guess they're trying to figure out what to do next.

So far these seem to be aimed at a time traveling repressed pervert, or maybe that's just me.  Moving on.

Inkblot number 4:  Similar to the last one, but coming together rather than being ripped apart.  Do you see a chicken?  No.  Look for a frog.  Nope.  Look harder.  What is the frog doing?  It's squashed.

Inkblot number 5:  A pile of butterflies of dragonflies, all slightly different on different levels but essentially the same.  Somewhat unpleasant as it's hitting close to home.  Totem pole and butterfly/dragonfly are both choices, and both fairly appropriate.  I guess I should go with the bugs again.  Hot or cold?  Hot.  Does it look like any of these things?  A setting sun, now that you mention it.  It symbolizes chaos.  There's been an accident.  What does it not look like?  An old person in grief over a loved one.  (Or is that exactly what it looks like...)

Inkblot number 6:  Four broken circles held by claws, carried by something with wings.  The rings of time.  Does it make you feel nostalgic.  Somewhat of an understatement.  What song comes to mind?  Hopelessly Devoted to You (Not really, but it was multiple choice and one of the other choices was Let's Talk About Sex.  Again, pervert...)  The eyes are searching.

Inkblot 7:  The same face type thing, but much more evil.  Behind a mask.  (I didn't think the first one was a face until it was brought up in the last question.  This is all about the power of suggestion.)  Fear.  Glaring.  Shadows of people.

Number 8:  Same exact thing as number 3.  I thought we already did the memory test?  Nostalgic.  Still two people.  Veils.  Bullet with butterfly wings.

Number 9, Number 9, Number 9: Rings of time again, this time being carried away by the two people from numbers 3 and 8 as they stand back to back in about to duel posture.  Ovaries?  I suppose (getting dirty again).

Last but not least, number 10:  Tall and skinny, still two halves of the same person, but much happier than previously.  Almost calm.  Hugging or holding hands, not sure which.

Number 11:  I thought you said we'd only do ten?  Three split sets of time travelers, two pairs good and one pair evil.  The evil ones are bigger, making me uneasy.  Are you aroused?  This question is getting old.  Are you coming on to me?  I'm straight.  It's a competition of sorts.

Done.  Whew.  They said I couldn't have the full results, but essentially I did very well and will likely be accepted to the program pending my endurance and physical results.  They also said I had a deep concern for the future and wanted to make peace with the world.  That's about right.

“You have a deeply-rooted desire to make peace in the world. Whether through subtle interactions with loved ones, or through getting involved in social causes, it is important to you to be able to influence the world in a positive way.

You have a deep respect for humankind. You care about the future of the world, even beyond your own involvement in it, and you inspire others to feel the same way. Your innate drive toward peace guides you in daily life towards decisions that are respectful toward yourself and others.

Your psyche is very rich; the more you learn about it, the more you will understand who you really are.”
